The Alchemy of Travel and Yoga
Traveling… It’s exhilarating, exhausting, liberating, and frustrating.
Struggling to speak a new language, following unknown traffic laws, and trying not to fart after eating foods you’ve never heard of can all put you in situations that are both unpredictable and humbling.
“...push out against societal constraints and self-limiting beliefs and slow down enough to open our eyes to the magic of this world”
Traveling forces us outside of our comfort zones which is fun and exhilarating- and also incredibly rattling. What makes traveling so great though, is also what makes the yoga practice so great. They both offer us this unplugged, remedy to neutralize the influence of the internet and the constant flood of information we’re all facing. They both give us an opportunity to create space for ourselves as we push out against societal constraints and self-limiting beliefs and slow down enough to open our eyes to the magic of this world.
El Salvador is full of magic. It is the place where the rocks tumble in the beach-break like a cacophony of percussion instruments. It’s the place where the ocean cleans your lenses so you can watch the sunrise and sunset compete for the most beautiful woman in the world, daily. It’s the place where everything is good, and everything is smooth. Todo bien y al suave. It’s a place where fun comes first and sometimes safety comes third. It’s the place where all you need to be content with the day is coffee, waves, and good conversation. It’s a place full of all the little moments that makes this life so rich. All we have to do to live fully is create enough space for ourselves to actually see what’s going on in life- magic.
